The IoT market is evolving and so must our understanding of what it means to be secure. Whether we are concerned about data privacy, anti-counterfeiting, or device integrity, the underlying thread is that all these applications utilize some form of security. Along with the acknowledgement that we need our IoT device to be more secure, we also need to understand what sort of solutions are available in the market and when to choose what sort of solutions. Lastly, security just for its own sake may not be enough for an embedded developer to implement a new device, so we will take a brief look at how one might extract additional value from a secure element class device.
